ROUND 8 REVIEWS

Francas Vs San Fransisco

In a real non contest Francas went into the game as unbackable favorites in this top versus bottom clash at Francas home ground. And there was no upset here with Francas in control from the start to the finish eventually winning by 55 points, a margin which somewhat flattered the undermanned San Fransisco. J. Beam was outstanding in the ruck for Francas picking up a lazy 79 touches and kicking 4 goals. His partner in crime, rover S. Yobbos was also sensational with 56 touches and 5 goals straight.

Barossa Vs Dromana

In another game where it looked as if there would be no competition for the Barossa unit, no one was suprised with them beating the hapless Dromana side by 49 points in a game which leaves Barossa in the 4 at the half way mark of the season which coach Dan Hausler is pretty happy with after dropping some crucial games along the way. Wayne Carey was in top form in the ruck gathering 37 touches kicking 3 goals and taking 11 marks. He was well supported by centreman Malcolm Blight who got 39 touches and 2 goals.

The Wolves Vs Mainland

This Wolves bandwagon keeps rolling on after teaching the pethetic Mainland line up a lesson in football with a 116 point devestation. The Wolves are looking good at this break in the season, and if they can keep this form up, they will be hard to beat when it comes to finals time. Brent Todd starrted for The Wolves on the wing with 44 touches and 29 marks to go with his 2 goals and Luke Ireland was sensational running off a half forward flank snagging 6 goals straight.

Manchester United Vs Faarknn

In a game where the Faarknn hierachy thought that they may have to play at their best to beat the reddevils at home, they were mistaken as they were able to beat Manchester with ease without ever really putting the foot on the accelerator. Mick Molloy was sensational on his new found position on the wing with 71 touches and 3 goals and Damien Lock was also brilliant at Centre Half Forward after moving up the ground from Full Forward with 8 goals from 24 touches. Only losing 2 matches so far this season, they look to be powering on without much trouble to the finals.

Pines Vs Lucifer

In the game of the round, the in form Pines came up against the in form Lucifer. Some judges thought that Pines home ground advantage might just get them over the line and they were prooven right with Pines winning the game by 13 points after coming back from 5 goals behind in the 3rd quarter when the natives became wrestless and got Pines over the line. Jim Ross played 4 great quarters in the losing Lucifer side picking up 37 touches roving and for the opposition Michael Osborn also picked up 37 touches on his wing. Pines must be happy with their progress so far after at the start of the year most penciled them in as a team which may be relegated, they find themselves in the 4.
